Christmas Gift Boxes

Here's an idea if you'd like to dress up an ordinary gift box for gift giving this season.
These little boxes were made using paper mache houses and boxes bought at Michaels. I painted the houses and applied a mixture of  Snow Tex, paint and glitter to the roofs. Paper from Melissa Frances covers the boxes. I then sprinkled pink and white mica on top of the boxes and embellished them with glitter snowflakes, buttons and glitter heart chipboard. Silver pipe cleaners were coiled up and placed on the chimney as well as tinsel. I made a crepe paper rosette and printed out "Joyeux Noel" on cardstock to adhere on top of the rosette.

Holiday Fairy in a Jar

A simple tutorial on how to catch a fairy in a jar. :)
Supplies-
Pattern paper - I used Melissa France's "Decoration" paper
Mason Jar
Round Paper Mache Box
Ribbon
Fairy Image
Christmas Sprigs
Chipboard Letters
Glitter
Embellishments
Cover a paper mache box with pattern paper and ink around the edges to give it that vintage look.
Place the fairy inside the lid of the mason jar. I used Zip Dry to keep her in place and it worked just dandy. I then sprinkled a little glitter snow inside the lid.

Add a little sprig inside the jar behind the fairy. Screw the lid back on the mason jar and adhere the jar to the top of the box. I used a glue gun to adhere the jar to the box.  This little fairy doesn't seem too excited about being stuffed in a jar. Too bad, I think she looks cute.
Tie ribbon around the base of the jar and glue the chipboard letters to the front of the jar. I glued a little mirror  heart from Heidi Swapp to the front of the bow.
Top the jar with sprigs, an ornament and any other embellishments you choose. I also tucked in a vintage inspired postcard from Melissa Frances.
Annnnnnnnnnd  you're finished!

Birthday Girl Party Favors

Happy 1st of September everyone! Today kick starts the beginning of my favorite season. Speaking of seasons, you know what I love about birthdays? They know no season. The more people you know, the more reasons for celebration throughout the year. In honor of all birthdays all year long, I've created a set of party favors.

I covered a paper mache box with pattern paper, resin frame, glitter chipboard star and crepe paper, all from Melissa Frances. Vintage "Glamour Post" images from Artchix Studio

Embellish with buttons, sliver twisty star thingies (what ARE those things called??) add some pom pom trim around the edge of the box.

Goodie bags! These are just  your basic brown paper bags embellished with pattern paper and stick-on pearls, . I made ribbon rosettes, glued them on clothespins and attached images of vintage lovelies on top. I stuck a feather plume to the clothespin as well.
Of course, the party hat. No party is complete without the crowning glory of the party hat. I used the same supplies throughout the entire set. Pattern paper, feathers, stick on pearls, crepe paper, ribbon rosettes and pom pom trim.

Happy Birthday and Happy Fall!
