Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme
Last week, Kellen and I planted a little balcony garden. I'm embarrassed to admit that I do not have a green thumb...at all. I'm awesome at killing plants. Luckily, Kellen is a master gardener and with his guidance, these little plants just might have a fighting chance.
We went to the local nursery and picked out -
~Strawberries
~Basil
~Banana and Bell Peppers
~Tomatoes
~Cilantro
~Oregano
~Dill
~ Lavender
~Lemon Thyme
~Mint
~Coriander
I have yet to kill any of them off. In fact, this is what I found this morning. Awww...cute!
A few more pics of our little garden..
I thought it would be fun to make a few quick and simple projects using paper and rub ons from Melissa Frances and adorable garden images from Cosmo Cricket. These little bags would be great to use as invitations for a neighborhood BBQ, garden party or picnic. Fill the bags with a few little treats and add the invite inside.
Here's another quick card using paper from Melissa Frances, Jenni Bowlin and Cosmo Cricket. Can you sense a bit of a theme here? Yep, strawberries. I must be a little over excited at the thought of that little strawberry out in our garden.

Dear Mom
You are the source of our beginning and have always been there for us. You were our first teacher and the guiding light in our lives. Whenever we need you, there you are giving us the warmth and comfort that is so needed. I know how hard you've worked for us and the sacrifices you've made. Thank you for all you have done for us kids, we are so incredibly blessed to have you as our Mother.
I can only hope that when I become a mom, I will be just as loving, giving, kind and patient as you. Thank you for being such an inspiration to me and showing me unconditional love throughout my life.
I love you!

Weekend Recap and a Craft
Absolutely gorgeous.
Road trips with Kellen are insane. I don't think it's fair two people can have so much fun. Have you ever laughed so hard you can't breathe and tears are streaming down your face? That's everyday with this man.
Moving on...
Rumor has it, the party hat I made is in Simply Handmade's Feb/March issue. I haven't seen the issue yet, but
I thought I'd post a couple pics of it here.
Crepe paper, pattern paper and glitter chipboard are from Melissa Frances. Chipboard number button and star tag are from Jenni Bowlin.

The Atomic Housewife
Technicolor cookbooks, ranch houses, 50's and 60's advertising and decorating. Ohhh the kitschiness of it all. Don't you love it?
Pattern paper and rub on from Melissa Frances and the vintage image is from Cosmo Cricket.
The Atomic Housewife has inspired me to make this little card.

The Crepe Paper Dress
My Great-Great Aunt Wanda takes the title of Miss Torrey, Utah in a crepe paper dress! This is where creativity meets necessity. During The Great Depression there wasn't money to buy fabric. Her mother, instead, sewed blue crepe paper to an old sheet. Look at the amount of detail. Dare I attempt such a feat?
