Australian Open Party with Cost Plus World Market

Thank you Cost Plus World Market  for sponsoring our Australian Open Party.
All ideas and opinions are 100% my own.

We are getting into the swing of things by celebrating the Australian Open! Often times tennis is overlooked as a great sport for kids, usually overshadowed by softball and soccer. Tennis has wonderful benefits and is found to help improve grades, concentration and focus.

I wanted to get kids excited about tennis by having our very own mini Australian Open bash.
We dined on lots of delicious Australian food  and  Australian treats and even tried our hand at some table tennis.  Check out the party below and be sure to find out how you can win a trip to Australia at the end of the post!

The kids loved trying out different foods from another country. Take a look at some of the snacks they nibbled on. So yummy!

There were lots of treats to choose from like Aznac biscuits, Tim Tams, cheese and crackers and an assortment of licorice.

Don't you love when something is cute AND helpful? These darling chalkboard picks looked adorable and served a purpose. They were perfectly tucked into the delicious snacks while letting the guests know what they're about to bite into.

Gotta have Bundaberg root beer! This is not your typical root beer. It has sarsparilla root, vanilla bean, licorice and molasses and MAN was it good. This was more for the parents to try and it was quite the hit.

Oh yes we did! We tried a vegemite sandwich!  We toasted bread, buttered it and then spread a thin layer of vegemite across the toast. I loved how the kids were so eager to try something new.

Playing table tennis can be quite the workout for little ones! It was wonderful to have this water dispenser handy so the kids could just help themselves to a drink when they got thirsty.

Party supplies are a must for any party and this banner was quick and easy to put together. I simply painted each piece red and white, let it dry and hung it above the snack table.

The little guests had a blast playing table tennis with each other. They were each able to take home their own table tennis set as a party favor. I dressed up mini kraft bags with vintage inspired tennis paper and tied a little ribbon to the handle. The kids loved their adorable favors!

These darling white scalloped cake stands doubled as serving dishes at our party. They come in three different sizes and I love the sweet simplicity of the design. I can't wait to use them again!

We loved learning a bit about Australia and tennis at our party. I hope it inspired the little ones to become interested in playing tennis as well as learning about other parts of the world. We're so excited to watch the Australian Open!

It's a Marshmallow World in the Winter Party

It's a marshmallow world in the winter,
When the snow comes to cover the ground,
It's the time for play, it's a whipped cream day,
I wait for it all year round.

This is one of my all time favorite Christmas songs. Can't you just hear Dean Martin crooning this classic holiday ditty?
With the help of Oriental Trading's Christmas goodies, I was able to create a Marshmallow World in the Winter party!

The invitation to our party was a snowglobe with all the party details printed on cardstock and inserted into the globe. The kids LOVED receiving such a fun invite!

The invites were placed in these fun winter retreat bags and the kids loved opening up their little winter bags to find the snowglobe invite inside. I'm always looking for fun and unique ways to give invitations and I think this was quite the hit.

You can't have a Marshmallow World in the Winter soiree without marshmallows! How sweet are the little faces on these marshmallow stickers? I placed the stickers on mini white paper bags and added tiny clothespins to the tops. Inside the bags were blue and silver Hershey's Kisses and a few more marshmallow stickers for the kids to take home.

The little guests took home these darling hot cocoa notepads and marshmallow pencils. Oriental Trading has a huge variety of holiday notepads to give out as favors. These would also be a fun classroom gift for kids!

I can't get over how cute this eraser is! That little marshmallow face just kills me. So cute!

Here's a closeup of the cute cocoa notepad.

No party is complete without a cake and this one did not disappoint. A mini chocolate naked cake sprinkled with candyfetti and we were good to go!

Since there was a snowstorm the night before the party, we were able to go outside and play in the marshmallow world. Building snowmen and making snow angels were top priority for the kids. And after their cheeks were pink and their noses bright red, they came inside to warm up with a hot cup of cocoa.
I hope this inspires you to have a Marshmallow World in the Winter party of your own, even if there are no marshmallows falling from the sky in your part of the world. ;-)

Thank you for stopping by!

This review is based strictly on my opinion. I was provided the sample free of charge by Oriental Trading Company to provide my honest review. No other type of compensation was received. All ideas and opinions are my own.

Noon Year's Eve Party for Littles

We're saying goodbye to 2016 with our Noon Year's Eve party!
Sometimes it's hard for little ones to make it to midnight on New Year's Eve (and let's be honest, sometimes it's hard for us parents too!) so what better way to include the kids in celebrating the new year than with a Noon Year's Eve party! Invite little friends over with these bright and colorful invitations from Tiny Prints. The happy colors set the tone for the party and will get the kids excited to see what's in store for the celebration!

Using wrapping paper from Tiny Prints, I made festive party hats for the kids. I added a bit of tissue festooning around the bottom of each hat. Love how they turned out!

Keep the party snacks sweet and simple with cookies, fruit, cheese and crackers and of course, sparkling grape juice. The kids feel so fancy sipping the fizzy beverage from pretty glasses.

I turned gift tag stickers into cookie toppers by adding a toothpick to the back of the label. The confetti stickers fit perfectly with the colorful theme!

A fun activity for the party would be to include a notebook for the kids to write down their hopes, wishes and goals for the upcoming year. When next year's party rolls around, bring out the notebook again and have the kids see how far they've come and add their goals again for the next year. It will be so much fun to compare my daughter's 5 year old goals to her 15 year old goals. What a precious keepsake this will become!

How cute is this personalized table runner with our theme printed right on it?!  I loved having a durable table runner that was just as bright and colorful as the rest of the party.

As the countdown to the Noon Year arrives, hand out these poppers filled with confetti for the kids to crack open. I used this  tutorial to create them and loved being able to use the same wrapping paper to make the poppers as I did for the party hats. Wrapping paper isn't just for wrapping gifts!

These quick and simple favors are a huge hit with kids. Simply attach tag that says "ring in the noon year" to ring pops and you're good to go!

A sweet gift to my daughter after the party was this snuggly pillow to remind her that this, and every year after, is her year to sparkle and shine.

A huge thank you to Tiny Prints for teaming up with me for such a wonderful celebration! One that I know the kids will remember for a very long time.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
