The Crepe Paper Dress

 My Great-Great Aunt Wanda takes the title of Miss Torrey, Utah in a crepe paper dress! This is where creativity meets necessity. During The Great Depression there wasn't money to buy fabric. Her mother, instead, sewed blue crepe paper to an old sheet. Look at the amount of detail.  Dare I attempt such a feat?

Curiouser and Curiouser

"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see? "— The Mad Hatter

Spring Fairy Boxes and Card

The World is very old;
But every Spring
It groweth young again,
And fairies sing.

Flower Fairies of the Spring, 1923

When I was a little girl, our next door neighbor (an adorable little old lady) had the most amazing flower garden . I used to pretend the garden was filled with magical fairies dancing, singing, and playing. That memory was used as the inspiration for these spring fairy boxes and card.

Charming Vintage Find

I fell in love with these darling little iron on transfers I found at a local antique shop. Now I just need to actually embroider them on a dish towel instead of just staring at the packages all day.
That little iron is too freaking cute!
This one is my favorite! I love the teacup serenade and the smiling plates.
Hmmm....not sure what these little creatures are, but they sure are adorable.
Don't you love the price?
