Back to School Gift Box

Hello, friends!

Although back to school isn't typically a time to exchange gifts, I wanted to give a great friend of mine a little something since her son is starting preschool for the first time. Attached to her gift are adorable alphabet flashcards for her son. 

 I wrapped the gift in plain white kraft paper and then I put squares of fabric through my Xyron 5" Creative Station using the permanent adhesive and attached the squares to the front of the gift. I then tied some yellow ruler ribbon around the box and attached the flashcards to the gift.

I printed off these darling vintage inspired flashcards from Sweetly Scrapped and used my awesome (seriously, I love this machine!) Xyron Creative Station to laminate the cards.

After I laminated the cards and cut them out, I punched a hole in the corner and attached a mini ring to hold them all together. I then just tied a few ribbons onto the ring.

Can we just discuss how impossibly cute this little elephant is?!

What a perfect fit for little hands. :-)

Back to School Party Ensemble

Hi there! 

I love the idea of celebrating back to school with a little party. Our 3 year old is starting preschool in a couple weeks and we are amping up the excitement by reading her books about preschool, role playing the first day of school with fuzzy friends and playing music and games with a school theme. Perhaps a little gift of a party hat and goodie bag on the morning of her big day will help ease the first day jitters (although as of today, there are zero jitters and she just wants to go to school NOW!).

 This back to school party ensemble includes a gift bag, party hat and a mini banner using darling pattern paper from Pebbles. 

To make the hat, use a cone template and trace the template around your paper. Cut out, roll the paper until the ends meet and adhere the ends together using the Xyron Mega Runner. Using Xyron glue dots, adhere a bit of tissue garland around the bottom of the hat as well as a bit on the top.  Decorate the hat using fun Pebbles Back to School stickers!

For the bag, cut out two strips of paper and attach them to the front of the bag. Place Back to School sticker on top of the strips of paper and fill with basket shred.

I made the banner by cutting out triangles in a couple different sizes and adhering them to ribbon. I embellished the banner with darling school themed stickers from Pebbles.

Vintage Inspired Mini Gift Bags

Today I'd like to show you a couple vintage inspired gift bags I made with the Melissa Frances Glamour and Grunge papers. 

Using a gift bag template from bellesprintables.com, I placed the template on the paper, traced and cut it out. I then used my Xyron Mega Runner to adhere the bag together. 

 I adhered pink crochet lace around each bag and embellished with glass buttons and mini resin frames.

I tucked a bit of floppy blossom ribbon inside the bag instead of the usual tissue paper. I thought this would be a unique way to present a gift. I cut out vintage images from the adopted ancestors paper and attached them to the front of the bags.

Xyron and Perfect Paper Crafting Blog Hop!

Hello!

I'm so excited to share with you my project for the Xyron and Perfect Paper Crafting blog hop this week! Be sure to check out both blogs to find out how to win some awesome prizes! 

I know...I know...summer isn't officially over (it's still in the 90s here!!) but I just couldn't help myself  by looking forward to those crisp, colorful autumn days. I simply had to create a fall project! 

I was thrilled to receive a Perfect Airbrush from Perfect Paper Crafting to make these fun harvest favors.  What a cool tool this was to work with! I love that you can take any marker and turn it into an airbrush simply by attaching it to the Perfect Airbrush. Here's a link to see the airbrush in action. Perfect Airbrush Video

Instructions:

Cut three strips of 2" paper and place stencil down on top of paper. Using your Perfect Airbrush, spritz the marker over the stencil until all the circles are covered with color. Set aside.

Using your Perfect Airbrush, spritz the top of the wood tags orange and the bottoms yellow and set aside.

Cut three 3" strips of burlap and attach each strip to a bottle using Xyron adhesive dots. Run the 2" strips of paper you stenciled earlier  through the Xyron 3" sticker maker and wrap around the burlap on the bottle.

Print out "happy fall" on cardstock, cut out and adhere to wooden tag using Xyron glue dots. Thread bakers twine through the wooden tags and tie around the tops of the bottles.

Fill with treats, drinks or anything else you can think of!

Back to School Goodie Bags

With summer winding down and fall just around the corner, back to school is on the horizon for many of us.  Whether you have kids heading back or friends that are teachers, these fun vintage inspired gift bags are perfect to fill with school supplies and goodies. 

How perfect are these Notebook Middy Bags from Whisker Graphics for a school themed project?! 

 For the goodie bags, I adhered scraps of fabric using Xyron adhesive dots to the front and attached the flashcards with mini metal clips. I then threaded three different colors of Divine Twine through the metal clips and tied into a tassel.

A few enamel dots attached to the front of the bag and a little shredded basket filler and you're all set!
