Summer Kids Camps with Oriental Trading Company

The long days of summer have begun and the kids are already chanting "I'm bored!".  Sound familiar? Fear not, parents because  Oriental Trading Company has got you covered! With so many fun activities that focus on creativity and getting your kids outside, you're bound to cure those summertime boredom blues.

This summer, I recruited several other parents and together, we created our own summer kids camp. Camp Runamuck was born! Our plan was for each parent to host one day at her or his house and then we'd rotate throughout the week. Our little summer camps have become the highlight of the week for our kids (and parents!) and they look forward to the fun themes we have planned for that week.

For my first week of Camp Runamuck, I chose to focus on nature. Each child received a camp adventure backpack to take on our nature walk. They're the perfect size for the kids to carry their water, snacks and treasures they found along the way on our trek.

The campers took along a notebook  and colored pencils to draw interesting plants, birds and insects they found on our walk.

I remember how much I LOVED doing nature prints as a kid and I was thrilled to see Oriental Trading carried them. I couldn't wait to share with the little campers how cool making sun prints were. They gathered leaves, rocks and wildflowers to place on the paper and were amazed with how they turned out. They were a HUGE hit with the kids!

What's a nature walk without a little bug catching (catch and release, of course!). The campers loved making and decorating their own bug catchers and searching for bugs to study.

We finished up our camp by making these adorable handprint craft kits to commemorate our fun nature day at Camp Runamuck.

4th of July Ideas

Hello!
The 4th of July is just a few days away but you still have plenty of time to whip up some quick crafts for the big day.
Since there's always a little bit of down time between the morning parade, BBQ and late night fireworks, I put together little fun packs for the kids to enjoy. I filled them with sparklers, treats, glow sticks and a darling coloring page from Laura Kelly which you can download HERE.

Here are some fun party hats I made for the kids to wear while watching the parade. The hats use paper from Photoplay Paper Main Street Parade Collection and cute stickers from Pebbles Inc.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great 4th of July!

Berry Sweet Farmer's Market Birthday Party

Hi, friends!
I was thrilled to collaborate with Andressa of Twinkle Twinkle Little Party using the Strawberry Birthday Picnic Invite for this berry sweet farmer's market birthday party!

My good friend's little girl, Elle absolutely adores going to the farmer's markets with her mommy. She loves gazing at the wildflower bouquets, dancing and clapping to the fiddlers, pony rides and of course, munching on all those yummy fruits and veggies. As her 4th birthday was approaching, my friend asked if I could help her with a farmer's market party.
Being the party freak I am, I jumped at the chance to help celebrate Elle's big day!

The darling berry invites set the tone for the party and were reminiscent of  warm summer days at the market picking out ripe, red berries.

The little guests each received mini jelly jars filled with berries that were topped with red gingham fabric and bakers twine.

Can we just talk about these incredible cookies for a minute?! Honey pots, jam jars, strawberries, veggies and adorable vintage farm trucks were the hit of the party.

Little guests sipped from old fashioned milk bottles adorned with cheery paper bows.

As a parting gift, the guests received little red polka dot goodie bags with a berry sweet label attached with a mini clothespin to the top. Be sure to grab your free berry sweet printables HERE

This fun banner was made using wood banner pieces from The Wood Connection and seed packet scrapbook paper.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a berry sweet day!
