Three Tiered Holiday Dessert Tray with The Wood Connection

Happy Holidays!
Today I'd love to show you a fun project that is sure to get you in the Christmas spirit.
 Let's get started!

Supplies used:
mini wood finial
wood glue
ivory paint
patterned paper- Authentique; Cozy
All products available at The Wood Connection

Paint all the unfinished candlesticks and frames with ivory paint and let dry. I didn't worry too much about making sure the paint was perfect, I like a little of that shabby/worn look.

Trace the frames around the pattern paper and cut out. Attach paper to frames using mod podge and allow to dry.
Open up the back of the frames and sprinkle a bit of mica onto the glass. Cut out a piece of paper to cover the back and place it on top of the mica. Place back of frame back together.

Here's a close up of what the mica will look like through the frame. Don't you just love that little bit of sparkle?!

Attach mini wood finial to the mini candlestick using wood glue and allow to dry.

Attach four candle cups to the bottom of the largest frame using wood glue and let dry.
Using wood glue, layer the frames and candle sticks; large frame/large candlestick, medium frame/medium candlestick. Then place the next medium frame on top of the last candlestick and attach mini finial to the top of the frame. Allow to dry.

Next add festive photos, mini gift bags, desserts, tea cups and anything else you can think of to adorn your dessert tray.

Thanks so much to the The Wood Connection for having me. I am always so thrilled when the ask me to guest post. As a little Merry Christmas to you, The Wood Connection has been generous enough to give me a $25 gift certificate to give to you!
