Eating the Alphabet - Children's Book Club

It isn't always east to get our kids to eat their veggies, right? For our children's book club this month we chose to read Eating the Alphabet. It got the kids interested in trying new fruits and vegetables as well as teaching uppercase and lowercase letters. Plus, we had a ton of fun with all the fruit theme favors and crafts from Oriental Trading!

The cutest little banana pens you ever did see were given out at the book club. I don't think the kids can ever go back to using a regular pen now that they have a banana to write with!

Adorable fruit erasers were a huge hit at the book club. The stems can be pulled off and put back together which the kids thought were awesome.  I love party favors that are cute but also practical and won't end up in the trash. The kids can bring these fun erasers and pens to school when they start back later this month.  How cute is that tiny pineapple?!

I put all the sweet little favors in these darling berry cellophane bags and attached a tag I made using Canva

Along with trying new fruits and veggies, we also did a fun and quick craft.  The kids decorated orange slice craft kits which were the perfect activity for our book club. The little guests loved coloring and gluing seeds onto their orange slices.

As we read the book, we made a list of  the fruits and veggies we haven't tried yet. The book was a great tool in teaching the younger kids letter identification and the older kids loved learning about fruits and vegetables from all around the world.

I hope you enjoyed our children's book club!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
