Hey there!
I am so thrilled to be guest posting for The Wood Connection today! Halloween is my favorite holiday to decorate for and today I'd love to show you a fun project I've put together.
I made this little table by using a frame and candlestick. It was super quick and easy and I loved how it turned out.
Supplies used:
paint- charcoal
wood glue
mod podge
Instructions:
Trace paper around the frame and cut out. Print and cut out the crow silhouette to fit inside the frame.
Paint the circle base, candlestick and frame ( I started to paint the top of the frame then realized paper was going to cover it!).
Apply a bit of wood glue to the bottom of the candlestick...
and attach to the circle base.
Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to the top of the circle frame.
Attach your pattern paper to the top of the frame and smooth out any bubbles. Place the crow silhouette inside the frame.
Using wood glue, attach the frame to the candlestick and let dry.
That's it for the table! Pretty simple, right? Of course I had to set a couple darling
tiny pumpkins from The Wood Connection on top of the table as a little added decor.
Now on to the Halloween mobile! What I love about this project are the tiny little ghosts and pumpkins dangling from the mobile. So cute!
Supplies used:
paint- charcoal
fishing line
wood clue
mod podge
ribbon
Instructions:
Trace overlay onto pattern paper and cut out. Paint the sides of each overlay and let dry.
Trace mini pumpkins and ghosts on pattern paper and cut out. Paint all sides of the mini pumpkins and ghosts and let those dry as well.
When all the paint has dried, apply mod podge and attach the paper to the wood of the overlay and pumpkins and ghosts. Punch (or use a cutting machine, I used my cricut) circles in different sizes and patterns. I tied four pieces of fishing line around one of the overlays and placed the second overlay (the one that has the pattern paper) on top and sealed them together with wood glue.
I attached the pumpkins and ghosts by applying a thin coat of mod podge to the back of each piece of wood, then I laid the fishing line across the back and attached a piece of paper on top and let it dry. I used glue dots to attach the circles to the line.
I then looped a bit of polka dot ribbon through the overlay and tied it all together at the top.
And there you have it! A fun little Halloween table and a spooky mobile to match. :)
